Day by day

Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve

We pick you up in Nairobi at 7:30am and drive to the Maasai Mara Reserve, the homeland of the Maasai, Kenya’s cattle-herding nomads who hold firmly to their traditions. The Mara is spectacular. It has the richest concentration of wildlife in Kenya, and many travellers consider it a must on any African journey, though three days can only give you a first taste of it. You arrive in time for lunch, then head out on a game drive that lasts until late evening, before dinner and a night at a budget camp.

A full day in the Maasai Mara National Reserve

You have the whole day in the Maasai Mara, the most popular game reserve in Kenya, where your chances of finding the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) are at their best. The game drives are flexible: take picnic lunch boxes and stay out all day, or opt for an early-morning drive and another in the late afternoon. All meals are included, and you spend the night at a budget camp.

Maasai Mara back to Nairobi

After an early breakfast at camp you check out and start the drive back to Nairobi. If you wish, you can stop at a local Maasai village before leaving. You reach Nairobi later in the afternoon.
