Lake Naivasha National Park
Five days across three of Kenya’s best-loved safari areas: the Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Expect lively game drives in the Mara, rhinos and rich birdlife at Lake Nakuru, and a slower finish at Lake Naivasha on a boat ride or a nature walk, with the Great Rift Valley as the backdrop throughout.
You leave Nairobi in the morning and drive down through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, reaching your lodge or camp in time for lunch. The first game drive follows in the afternoon, out on the open savannah where elephants, lions, giraffes and other plains animals are often seen as the sun goes down over the Mara.
Today is a full-day game drive, starting early while the animals are at their most active. With a picnic lunch in the bush, you cover different parts of the reserve and get close to predators such as lion and cheetah, big herds of wildebeest and zebra, and a wide range of birds.
After breakfast you leave the Mara and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in the afternoon. The afternoon game drive circles the soda lake and the woodland around it. Depending on the season you may see flamingos along the shore, as well as white and black rhino, buffalo and the rare Rothschild giraffe.
Breakfast is followed by the transfer to Lake Naivasha. After lunch you unwind with a boat ride on the lake or a guided nature walk on Crescent Island, where giraffes, zebras and antelopes graze beside you in a peaceful lakeside setting.
Once you have had breakfast at your Lake Naivasha lodge, you set off on an unhurried drive back to Nairobi, with views over the Great Rift Valley along the way. We drop you at your hotel or the airport, bringing five memorable days on safari in Kenya to a close.
